Orzo Bake!

Hey!

Sharing the recipe for the Orzo bake I shared on my stories. I kind of just winged it so i’ll do my best to explain what I did!

Ingredients:

1 box of Orzo

2 Cups of broccoli

Smoked Turkey Sausage Rope

Shredded Cheddar Cheese

1/2 yellow onion

1 clove of garlic

2 tablespoons butter

Olive oil

1 cup of milk

Garlic Salt/Salt/Pepper

Instructions:

Instructions seems so formal… lol. This is what I did:

Chop up onion and broccoli, mince garlic, and slice turkey sausage.

I like my broccoli roasted so I put it on pan and roasted it for 20 min on 425.

While broccoli was roasting I cooked the Orzo according to the box. I used one whole box.

Next I put the 1/2 chopped onion and garlic in the cast iron skillet and started sauteing them until the onion was translucent.

Add sliced turkey sausage to cast iron with onions an garlic and I kept sauteing until sausage was browned.

Drain the Orzo and pour it back into the pot. Added the milk (honestly I didn’t measure this I just kept adding splashes until it looked like the consistency I was wanting) added butter and and a handful of the cheddar cheese. Stir on low until the cheese was melted. (I also seasoned during this step)

Once cheese was melted I added the cheesy orzo mixture and broccoli to the cast iron with the sausage, onion and garlic mixture.

Stir it all together and then I topped with more cheddar cheese and let that melt.

Scoop it up and serve!

Id say this would serve 4 people comfortably. Ross had two servings and we still had enough for lunch for both us the next day.

Hope this was helpful!

Xoxo,

Shelby
