All About my Eyelash Extensions

Hey babes!

I have gotten a ton of questions recently on my eyelash extensions so I figured making a post about it would be helpful for you all! I had eyelash extensions about 3 years ago for 6 months and I just recently got them again about a month ago. Let's jump into it!

WHERE I GO

I go to The Lash Lounge in Overland Park and I see Nicole.

WHAT I GET

I get the mink volume lashes. They are super lightweight and fully (just what I wanted). The 10 length. My normal eyelashes measure at a 9 so I just went one above it to make it look at natural as possible. I wanted fuller and curlier lashes not necessarily longer ones.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST

Right now at The Lash Lounge in Overland Park they have a special for an introductory set for $129 which is normally $275. You do have to get your lashes filled every 2-3 weeks if you want to keep them up. You can sign up for their VIP program and you would pay $100 a month and you are able to get 2 fills per month. A full refill is normally $65 without signing up for the membership.

DO THEY DAMAGE YOUR NATURAL LASHES

They aren't supposed to. The extensions attach to your normal lashes and should just shed off as your natural lashes would shed off normally. You can get your lashes removed as well by a stylish if you want them off. The Lash Lounge also addresses this on their website and here is their answer:

"Our application technique and premium products will not damage your natural lashes. It is imperative to the health of your lashes to have each natural hair isolated when an extension is adhered to it and ensure proper separation so that the hairs can continue to grow and shed as they would naturally. We only use formaldehyde-free, medical-grade adhesives which are made exclusively for lash extensions and offer a more sensitive adhesive for our guests who are more prone to allergic reactions. This combination of our top quality adhesive and individual lash attachment will sustain the health and integrity of the natural hairs indefinitely."

They also give more info on the removal process:

"Eyelash extensions can be easily removed by a Lash Lounge Stylist using a special gel remover formulated to quickly dissolve the medical-grade adhesive and gently wipe away the lash extensions. The process is painless and will not harm your natural hairs – taking less than 30 minutes. Please do not attempt to remove lash extensions yourself as this can cause damage to your natural lashes."

DO THEY HURT

They do not hurt at all. Most times I can't even feel that they are there. I will say immediately following my appointments my eyes are sometimes red. I have super sensitive eyes so this is nothing new to me. And if you have allergies sometimes they can be annoying because you can't rub and itch your eyes as you normally would. I try and keep up with my allergy medicine and eye drops to keep this from happening.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your first appointment for your full set takes about 90 minutes. Your eyes are closed the whole time and you are laying down. I usually listen to a pod cast but I'm not going to lie its hard for me to lay down that long. I'm a busy body and like to move around a lot so I get a little stir crazy. Fills only take 30-45 minutes so those aren't as bad. After you application you aren't supposed to get your eyes wet for 8 hours so be careful when washing your face and avoid showering during that time.

I hope this was helpful for everyone! The Lash Lounge in no way sponsored this post or even knows I am writing this post for that matter, I just wanted to provide you with some info! There are a ton of good lash artists out there! If you have any additional questions leave them below!
